Kinship executive director says food is a catalyst for change
Kinship Community Food Center recently broke ground for its new community food center at Holton and Locust. Executive Director Vin Noth explains to Kristin Brey and Steve Scaffidi on Point Taken that Kinship has already raised more than $15.5 million—about 86% of its $18 million capital campaign—to build a space that goes far beyond a traditional food pantry. The new facility will expand food access while creating opportunities for workforce training, community gathering, and long-term support for families across Milwaukee.
“What if food was an entry point, a catalyst to community change, as opposed to just distributing food?” Noth explains.
